The Sovereign Self & Distinctively Dionysian, just a little joyous update …
Having a lovely afternoon scanning, transcribing, archiving, writing prefaces et introductions with amis, laying out the next book to go on the press: ‘The Sovereign Self; The Anarchist Paper of Egoist and Individualist Persuasion, The Complete Print Run. A Bacchus Editions Archive Edition.’
I have been eager to complete this for quite some time, chers! Are you all familiar with it?The Sovereign Self was an individualiste | anarchist newspaper .. one of only 3 in the states that existed at that time. Like my ‘Soul of Man Under Socialism’ book, the writings in Sovereign Self still have “work” to do .. oui, I believe it is even MORE relevant today…
Building this book is un bonheur absolu. There will be writings from the editor | original author(s), new writings, reflections, a ‘family-tree’… all the goodies. Les mots me manquent to express my joy in creating this. For many, it was out of reach, “vanished” before the many ever discovered it, or something of a mystery… 👀🔎
Our focus with this is la beauté absolue~ it is going to be magnifique. One tidy volume with all the issues ever created & all of the original inserts that accompanied the paper, too. What a satisfying feeling it is, mes amis, to bring together every issue in one somptueuse book. There will be one edition in English and une en français 🖤📖
I have a Dionysian update as well. The paper is returning to its original format (et contents). I had fun using it as a writing space for a bit to prep readers for the then-upcoming Bacchus Editions journey (et merci to the other contributors for letting me take up that space for a bit) but now it is time for it to return to its normal format~ all those curated bits of deliciousness. I am hoping to the next issue (which I am finishing now) which will be the last of summer issue, and ALL issues going forward, will be presseed on our new Multilith 1250 (very old machine, but new to us) .Coincidentally, “Highwayman Press” of Tacoma, WA created The Sovereign Self on the very same press. :)
We shall see, We are playing with it now, et hope to have it up to par for the next summer issue of Distinctively Dionysian.
We have special contributors this next issue which I am quite excited about. Further, Bacchus Editions as a whole is also reprinting every past issue of Distinctively Dionysian. Exciting undertakings all around. If YOU would like to contribute to the end of summer issue, do reach me.
