Bacchus Editions is now the publisher of Backwoods Journal: A Journal of Anarchy & Wortcunning.
Ah, a lovely thing for Bacchus, vraiment. The Bacchus group has been reading Backwoods since it first appeared in 2018, et it has lived among our bookshelves, conversations, arguments et various wanderings since.
Pour moi, there is an especially delightful little return in all of this. My six-book Dancing in the Backwoods series has quite literally been a long intellectual dance beside Backwoods, sharing its encounter with anti-civilization thought, ferality, domestication, desertion, autonomy et the question of how to actually live outside the arrangements one refuses, while entering those questions through my own lens of embodiment, desire, intimacy, death, motherhood, disappearance et sensual refusal. The dance has never been one of agreement
or answer, but of proximity, divergence, provocation et return. Bacchus Editions will keep the issues in print, tend to orders et carry on the publishing life of the journal. Standalone Backwoods booklets et books are also forthcoming, growing from particular writings within the journal, the conversations around them, et even, in a few rather wonderful cases, from the responses of Backwoods readers themselves.We have given Backwoods its own little maison at Bacchus, with the story of the journal, a bit about this longrelationship of ours, et a place to sign up for Backwoods news:
